International film competition - "Intervideo Talent Award" - Call for entries Calls
Films permitted for submission are those dealing with the theme “Tomorrow we will see”, in accordance with the description of the competition. The length of the film contributions must not exceed 10 minutes. In the case of longer films, an excerpt of up to 10 minutes may be submitted.

Films can be submitted until 31st August 2009.

The winners can look forward to cash prizes totalling to ˆ 1.500.00 as well as various non-cash prizes. The prizes will be awarded during the "exground" film festival in Wiesbaden, Germany on 15th November 2009. To submit a film online, filmmakers can register at Reelport.com.

Free Movie Mondays at OCPAC kick off July 13 Calls

The Orange County Performing Arts Center’s Free for All series continues this summer with its immensely popular free Movie Mondays on the community plaza.

The Movie Monday series is held on the Center’s community plaza with the films projected on the side of Segerstrom Hall. Guests are encouraged to bring beach chairs or other easily portable seating items. Set-up begins at 5:30 p.m. with the movie starting at dusk (approximately 8 p.m.). Partnering with the Newport Beach Film Festival, a selection of the best short animated films from this year’s festival will be shown prior to the main feature. Guests may bring their own snacks and picnic suppers. Patina Catering will have assorted snacks and beverages available for purchase. Barbecues and similar food preparation will not be permitted.

Cinema Orange film series at the Orange County Museum of Art Calls

Celebrating its fifth year, the Cinema Orange film series spotlights the cinematic works of independent filmmakers from around the world. Co presented by the Orange County Museum of Art and the Newport Beach Film Festival, this season’s films explore art, architecture and design.

Call for entries- Film and Short Screenplay Competition


Film Festival Competition

The Waterford Film Festival is back and will run between the 6th-8th of November. We are now accepting films to consider for this year's competition and  we also have a new screenplay competition.

Submission Fees:

Feature Films : 20 Euros early deadline July 31st
25 euros late deadline September 2nd
Short Films : 10 euros early deadline July 31st
15 euros late deadline September 7th
Screenplay competition: 10 Euros entry fee : Deadline August 17th

SHORT FILM COMPETITION- CASH AWARD

Finalists will have their films screened during the festival and on the last day an overall winner will be announced and a cash prize of ˆ600 will we awarded as well as a certificate. 2nd place certificates will also be awarded. The Waterford Film Festival will consider entries all genres of films of less than 20 minutes (we will consider a minute or two leeway for credits). Filmmakers worldwide can submit their work. Foreign language films must be dubbed in English or have English subtitles. Films produced from January 2006 onwards will be considered. Please note: We are not considering Short Documentaries this year.


Best Feature Film

We welcome all genres of feature films. This category is divided between fiction and documentary. We will be screening features films over the 3 days. There will be a certificate award presented to 1st and 2nd place in each category. The Waterford Film Festival will consider entries form all genres of films over 45 minutes in length. Filmmakers worldwide can submit their work. Foreign language films must be dubbed in English or have English subtitles. Films produced from January 2005 onwards will be considered.


Short Screenplay Competition: - Cash Award

There will be 20 Finalists, each will receive a certificate and on the last day of the festival, an award of ]ˆ 600 (EUROS) will be awarded to one overall winner. The winning writer will also be able to meet up with a professional filmmaker to discuss the development of their script and to discuss opportunities in getting their film made.

August 10th, 2009 at the Howell Library. It will be a Red Carpet Event and the films will be voted upon in various different categories. Filmmakers, friends, families, and the general public are cordially invited to view these original films!!!

Film Submission:

Starting May 15th 2009, we will be accepting submissions through July 31st, on Teen Made, Directed, and edited short films. The 2009 film festival is open to students ages 13-18 years old.

Submitted Materials:
All projects must be an origanl work and have a running time of not more than 5-7 minutes
